Jungle Niwas - The Creation

If the aphorism ‘Never Judge a book by its cover’ is to be denied, then no example works better this particular name “Jungle Niwas”

Imagine this: No walls, no locked doors, sound of Jackal and Hyena filling the silence all night, dark sky full of bright stars hidden with tall green trees. Sounds eerie? Welcome to Jungle Niwas. Place where heart engulfs mind.
The road to Jungle Niwas takes you at the fag end of the dusty haphazard path. As you wind up at the resort, sound of traffic fades and you can clearly hear the sound of birds. Its location ensures the resort has a certain outdoor atmosphere no city hotel can match.

Jungle Niwas has pretty much established itself as one the known Tented Accommodation in Ranthambore. What is special about the resort is that each swiss Tent has a sun-filled verandah affording a panoramic view of the resort lawn and the surrounding of hills. Flowering plants and shrubs cover the raised stone platform in front of each Tent.

No visit to the resort can be considered complete without visiting the park. Hotel staff organizes Safari’s and day trips to the Jungle in Ranthambore Park. The doubly enhanced charm of the location is that days can be spent in the Jungle, sighting Tiger, Dear, Leopard, Sloth Bear etc and you can return to the resort peaceful hush.
Jungle Niwas is designed for lovers as just sitting in the verandah is a delight. Jaw-dropping scenery especially at the dawn bring back old memories making you smile and relax in the silence.

“The idea have been born out of a passion for wildlife” says Abbas A Zaidi, owner of the resort. “Always wanted to give a taste of adventure and solitude to the guests and any dream can turn into reality if you and your better half share the same taste” says the owner smiling at his wife who herself is an active wildlife person, together they offer the best hospitality, greeting each guest personally with a smile.

The trip has been punctuated by an obcene number of good meals. At night there is a barbecue on the lawns and in winter a bonfire. Oh yes, the other thing I loved here was tottling around on a horse ‘Sultan’, a beautiful three year old horse rides you in the village.

There is an infinite offering of varities of exquisite food, always the pick of the bunch as a lot of food is grown on the onside farm, all of it organically. There are cows for milk and hens for eggs. In fact, guests can ask to pick their vegetable and cook them if they want. The food is wholesome and eating on the front lawn on a sunny dec day unrivalled.

The organic food, and so on (depending on the taste of each guest) makes for a whole hypo toxic platter.

The operative word for this resort is more, it’s a combination of exceptionally simple ingredients. A place to be with yourself or probably do a recap of your life. The Tents are so relaxing that it can thumb their noses at city hotel rooms in many places.

The destination certainly seems to have gained favour with tourists and Indians as well. Call it serendipity or a jacket left behind, I would sure find an excuse to come back and visit Jungle Niwas asap.
